For the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu, SUNRISE PERU TREK includes all meals and snacks for every trek until the last breakfast. All food is prepared from fresh ingredients that are purchased in the Cusco local market. Everything is transported by the porters, and then prepared by the chef. We do not use any canned or rehydrated food. It is all fresh, healthy and delicious!.
If you are with special dietary needs; No problem!… We cater to vegetarians, vegans and any food allergies. During your Inca Trail treks you will be well fed; Food will be provided five times a day, beginning with a big breakfast, a snack, lunch, tea time and dinner.
There are varieties of choices of local and western foods dishes or a mixture of both in all the major destinations you visit. During the Inca Trail trek you can expect 3 full meals a day as well as well as regular tea and coffee breaks; the food is freshly prepared daily.
Trekking is a wellness activity which helps in detoxification. We now provide meals that include super food as part of the ingredients for better acclimatization to high altitude and better nourishment.
There’s plenty of it and often our clients say that food on our Inca Trail Treks is even better than meals in hotels. Certainly, it is important to eat and drink as much as possible during the trek, as you will be using a lot of calories each day. The menu varies according to your cultural backgrounds, but a typical day’s meals would be as follows:
Wake up call with a warm drink of caca tea to help with cope with a day of rigorous activity of trekking.
SUNRISE PERU TREK provides the most varied menu in the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. Meals vary from typical “trekking food” to Italian and western food. We are looking to add more gourmet dishes to our menu depending on its availability. It is amazing what our trekking chefs can produce on occasions. With quite basic equipment they manage to produce excellent cakes with icing, apple tarts, pizzas, fried chips, spaghetti, pasta and even jelly! Our chefs are well trained in producing a variety of menus and will almost always be able to accommodate specific requests.
